January Giveaway

Paper beads are a timeless classic, they have been around for ages but are so often overlooked for their simplicity.

My great grandmother used to make these necklaces out of church bulletins, and we still have them. Think of all of the left over wedding programs, Christmas cards, baby announcements that get thrown away – all priceless paper memories that can be turned into something truly unique and meaningful for the recipient.

Let alone the wonderful selection of scrapbook paper that is now readily available to us at our local craft store, the possibilities are endless!

Recently I was in Florida visiting my Grandma, and I had the opportunity to get a better look at these necklaces. They looked so simple, that I decided to give them a try.

SUCCESS!!! I simply adore the way this necklace turned out. For such a simple bead, I wanted to keep with a simple necklace and made it one long strand. But it looks so great all bunched together, wrapped around 4 times, I cannot wait to whip this baby out in the Spring or Summer with a simple T-Shirt and jeans!

Want a larger, more rounded bead? Use wrapping paper when making the beads for longer triangles! I would love to see these made out of scrap fabric as well! The possibilities are endless…

Want a chance to win this necklace for yourself? Go ahead and leave a comment!

That’s all you have to do! Of course becoming a follower is nice, especially since my goal is to start monthly giveaways, but not necessary for winning!

Leave a comment, and in 2 weeks I will announce the winner.

Want to make some for yourself? I found a great tutorial on-line HERE.

Good luck, and Happy Beading!
