Halfway Point of Madeline’s Spring Collection…

1. Peasant Shirt with Tie, 2. Embroidered Tunic, 3. RIT dyed eyelet tank, 4. Button Capris, 5. Reversible Cheeky Trousers, 6. Upcycled Capri Overalls, 7. Bubble Ruffle Dress & Baby Sunhat, 8. Shirred Peasant Dress, 9. Cropped Gathered Pocket Jacket

We have reached the halfway point of Madeline’s Spring Collection, and so far I am blown away by all of the positive feedback! Thank you so much for your comments and features, I am honored!!!

A couple of items in the collection are not of my own design, so I thought I would let you in on those little secrets today…

What do you do when your toddler stains their brand new white eyelet tank? Or, in my case, you unpack the hand-me-downs from older sis only to find a little brown stain right smack dab in the middle of the shirt? Why, you pull out the RIT dye of course!!!

Nothing says Spring/Summer like SUNSHINE YELLOW!!! What?!! BRING IT! Lol

And the trousers are brought to you courtesy of Alida from I Make Stuff. She premiered this Reversible Cheeky Trousers tutorial on Project Run & Play back in February, and I knew I wanted to whip up a pair. I had my eye on some seersucker that was at my local fabric store, and once it went on sale I snatched it up!

I made a few slight changes by not making them reversible to keep it lightweight for the warmer temperatures. Which meant I had to alter the instructions slightly to account for seam allowances, adding approx. 4″ to the waist along the top seam, as well as 4″ to the bottom seam – so I could hem them with the rolled cuff.

I ended up loving them so much, I made a pair for both daughters! But managed to only get pictures of Chloe in them…sorry Madeline – I know its your collection and all…lol.

I can hear it now…Marsha Marsha Marsha – lol.

The pants with the doggies on them have quickly become her favorite :).

We will wrap up the rest of the Collection next week, as well as hopefully premier the final Collection I am working on for Chloe! I think I can I think I can I think I can…

Thanks so much for stopping by and following along. I have really been enjoying these Collection features, and am so happy you have been too :).

Have a great day, and Happy Sewing!

Now i really think you should share your secret about how to manage to get so much sewing and blogging time. PLEASE!!!

Silly Mommas – its easy, I don’t sleep!!! Lol

Seriously though, there was a while there when I was waking up at like 4am every morning. Gave me great quiet time in the house. I am now sleeping to a nice normal hour, which means less sewing time, but I still have a couple of breaks in the middle of the day which I take full advantage of!

And lastly, I am in the home court stretch of our third pregnancy – which means I am packing it all in now, because I know my time will be slipping away from me soon :)

Lol – love you guys :)

Ooh love the fit of those trousers. I’ve never dyed anything but might help my friend dye a skirt orange for a wedding. Did the dye stain your sink and/or tub?
