Perhaps you remember the Color my Summer Series Delia Creates and KoJo Designs put on last month? Well…on a whim I had entered their contest with a cute little craft I had made for my daughter and her friends one day. Some rainbow fabric pom poms.
Imagine my shock when these 5 minute wonders actually made it into the Top Eleven!!!
Making these fabric pom poms couldn’t be easier, in fact this would be a great project for your kids to help you with!
Simply…
- Take a rectangle of fabric (I used a fat quarter) and cut into strips.
- Sew an 8″ piece of elastic together at ends, creating a circle
- Gather fabric strips together, slip through elastic loop, and bring the elastic to the center
- Using a small piece of ribbon (or fabric scrap), simply sew or hot glue around to secure fabric and elastic in place.
And you are finished!
The kids all loved them, and I am excited about the soccer game fun this Summer when we get to wave these colorful poms in the air
.
Thanks so much for stopping by everyone! And thank you to Delia and Kojo for choosing this little project as one of the Top Eleven spots, I was so excited to be selected
.
Until next time, Happy Sewing
