Working our way through the first row of Chloe’s Fall Collection, we have our last shirt.

I wanted to do something fun, that used different complimentary fabrics all in one shirt. I am such a fabric lover, mixing, matching and hoarding bright and fun fabrics all of the time. But lately I have been using more muted tones, or more main stream clothing fabric while creating. So I thought it was time to bust out the fun!

With my kids both being way into Looney Tunes lately I have been hearing a lot of ‘Duck Season’ ‘Rabbit Season’, ‘meep meep’, ‘What’s up Doc?’, and of course while making this shirt…Daffy’s ‘Yoiks, and Away!’ Henceforth, I give you the Stripes and Away Tunic…

For this shirt I used Heather Bailey’s Pop Daisy in Red for the main fabric, Carolyn Gavin’s Spring Street Sketchbook Flowers in Blue for the stripe down the middle and at the shoulders, and Amy Butler’s much-loved Full Moon Dots fabric for the bias tape.

You can keep it straight like I did in these photos, or add elastic around the sleeves and bottom for a different look. I will show you how to do both in the tutorial!

Chloe wanted to pose for the camera some…

But I like it best when I happen to catch those unguarded moments…

Thanks so much for stopping by, and until next time…

Happy Sewing!
