First of all, I want to thank everyone for your votes! The competition is fierce, and I am honored to have made it through as far as I have!

Week 1 at Project Run & Play was Back to School, and if you recall I went with a ‘Shapes’ Theme.

When I first started creating the look for this outfit, I was in the middle of reviewing the Accuquilt GO! Baby Fabric Cutter – and had stumbled across their Pizzazz Quilt pattern. I fell in love with how modern this design looked, and the idea for the Shapes theme started to form. I knew it would make a super cute fabric pattern for a skirt – and got to work.

We have all seen plenty of tutorials for circle skirts with elastic waistbands, but for Project Run and Play I wanted to step it up a notch and really make a perfectly fitted one with zipper closure.

You can make it as a double layered circle skirt, like the one seen in the photo, or a simple single layer.

(Don’t you love how I ironed the skirt prior to photographing it…lol.)

To use a quilt pattern like I did for the Project Run & Play skirt, simply piece together your fabric as your normally would for a quilt, into a large square – depending on the size of your child (36″ square should be more than enough though!). And then continue on with the tutorial as normal.

(Once again with the ironing…sheesh!).

The Circle Bags will be heading your way, as well as that Tiffany Shrug!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and until next time…

Happy Sewing :)
