Declaring War On My Growing Pattern Pile...

Hello - my name is Jessica, and I am a pattern junkie.

Ok, so maybe I am not as bad with patterns as I am with fabric. But it's close.

I just cant help myself - I fall in love with something, and I immediately envision just what fabric I would use from my stash to make said pattern, and before I know it - its in my shopping cart.

And to tell you the truth, I don't feel bad about it. I feel that patterns are something that can never grow old. I can use them again and again, and make them for gifts for all of my friends, which is fantastic!

The only problem is, I never seem to get to them! They sit in my to-do list pile, and I continue to push them aside until one day I just file them away for 'later'. And that I do feel bad about.

Well - NO MORE. I declare war on my unused patterns! Over the next few months I am hoping to make my way through that pattern pile, sharing with you as I go.

First up were these adorable 'Rings-of-Ruffles' pants by Lily Giggle! The instant I saw these I was in love. Something about the comfortable, adorable, girly yet whimsical style of these pants...well, they just dragged me in from the get go. I knew I needed to have them!

I love patterns like that, don't you?! Patterns that you know you need to own the instant you see them! When that happens, nothing can stop you from running to the fabric store! HA!

I didn't just make one pair of these bad boys...I made 4 pairs, all at the same time, 2 for each child! And I am so happy I did...they were easy to put together, with loads of photos and instructions. I made all 4 pairs in the same day!

You see, my daughters have this new thing where the like to wear the same pants. They were over the moon excited when I showed them these :).

We had fun dancing around in them later that night. After all, nothing says Salsa quite like ruffled bottom pants.

Next up...Oliver & S. - I am coming for you!!!! HA

Thanks so much for stopping by, and until next time...

Happy Sewing!

    1. I have a vintage Vogue dress pattern that I keep thinking I want to tackle, but it totally frightens me for some reason. Maybe I can pull it out one of these days and truly make myself something fabulous!

  6. I've been eyeing that pattern forever! Now I just may have to go buy it. I've been out of control buying patterns lately. Almost as much fun as buying fabric! :)
