I don’t know about you, but lately my free time for sewing seems to be ever so elusive. So when Shannon from luvinthemommyhood asked if I wanted to try her new Commuter Cowl pattern, and promised that it would only take 30 minutes…I had 2 words for her – HECK YEAH!
Being that I have a particular fondness for scarves, shawls & cowls (I never met a scarf I didn’t like – HA!), indulging in this quick little sewing treat was fabulous. The Commuter Cowl is perfect for all of the in between weather we have during Spring and Fall. Ideal for layering, this cowl is just the right size and weight.
Need something heavier? No problem, just use a heavier fabric like fleece or wool! Want something for summer? How about lace – ohhhhhhhhhh…
My favorite thing about the Commuter Cowl would be its versatility. Shannon’s design is so unique and classy, I couldn’t wait to figure out how she put it together. And when I realized just how simple it was – I couldn’t believe it! Clever, clever, clever. But she leaves room for you to put your own spin on her design, which is always much appreciated…
After all, what else was I going to do with these hot pink suede laces I had lying around?!!
Thank you so much Shannon for allowing be to try out your new pattern. I am full on ready for Spring with my bright new fun neck accessory!
Want a to see more of the Commuter Cowl? Be sure to head on over to luvinthemommyhood for more info and to see all of her fantastic photos (and swoon over the fabrics she used as well!).
