Faux Knee Patch Pants for Baby, Spring Collection 2012…

IMG_2164

Have you ever noticed how many powder blue knit baby pants there are on the market for baby boys? Don’t get me wrong, I love baby blue…but really?!!

After looking around at the rows of T Shirts at the thrift store, I decided there was something I could do about it after all.

With a little zig zag stitching, I was able to turn an old T Shirt into these faux knee patch pants for Ben. It is rather simple really.

Firstly, you will need the pattern pieces found HERE.

Once you have cut out your pattern pieces…

And there you have it! A very easy way to whip up a quick pair of knit T Shirt pants, while adding a few embellishments to help them stand out from the crowd.

  4. Ha! So cute Jessica. I used to make lots of pants this way but now my kids are getting too big and t-shirts aren’t big enough anymore :(

  5. Oh he’s so cute! I think I had a dream that I was hanging out with him. :)

  6. Holy cow, these are super awesome!!!
I think it’s funny that you wanted colors other than baby blue… I’m pretty sure I’ll be scouring our 2nd hand stores for exactly that.. baby blue to make more blue pants :) I’m a sucker for putting our boys in blue!
This has been added to my “Upcycling” board on Pinterest, and hopefully I will try it this weekend.
    Thank you for posting this!!!!
