Sole Hope

Have you heard about Sole Hope? Sole Hope is a fantastic organization whose mission is to put closed toed shoes on children in Africa who suffer from a terrible parasite called jiggers. A simple pair of closed toed shoes is all it takes to help prevent this horrible skin eating parasite. But Sole Hope does more, because it also teaches the shoe making trade to men and women helping them to earn a decent living.

It is truly an amazing cause, and of course there are lots of ways to get involved. Donating or Sponsoring a pair of shoes, donating monthly, and becoming a volunteer or hosting a shoe cutting party are just a few examples of how.

You can also VOTE.

Sole Hope is currently in the middle of a competition trying to win $50,000 for their worthy cause. There are only a couple of days left in the competition, and considering they are in the top 3 – EVERY VOTE COUNTS.  So be sure to head on over and vote by clicking HERE

And let me just be the first to say: don’t look up Jiggers. A friend of mine found one in her foot (she was visiting Africa) and showed us the pictures– you don’t want to know. Just donate. You’ll feel good and you won’t have to try to erase the images from your mind; )
