Luckily for those of you who like free baby pants patterns, my little man keeps growing. And I keep liking the handmade pants way more than the store bought kind!
It is all in the waistband to tell you the truth.
The store bought kind is always digging into their precious bellies when they twist and turn, and I hate seeing that. Babies are supposed to be comfortable at all times – even in khakis and jeans!
All it took was for me to stumble across a fantastic pair of monkey cords, and I realized that it was indeed time to make the next size up of basic baby pants.
You can find the post for sizes 0-6 months, and 6 – 12 months HERE.
The pants have a bit of a slimmer fit in the leg this time, as I was looking for something nicer for Sunday wear. But to keep them loose leg, just add 1/2″ – 1″ along the outer leg ‘fold’ pattern line.
I also didn’t bother with the snaps at the inner leg this time around.
After all, Ben is getting so big! No need for snapsies anymore. So sad.
Gah, I love that face!
The tutorial for making the baby pants can be found in the original 0-6 month post. For your free 12 – 18 Month baby pants pattern, see below:
Thanks so much for stopping by, and until next time…
Happy Sewing!

Very cute monkey pants on a very cute monkey!
he is beautiful!!! oh my goodness that close-up…melt my heart! after pr&p im on to making pants for all my kiddos. none of them fit, they are always falling down on them. my little guy is uncomfortable with the waiste bands on all of his jeans. plus i have to make sure that he can button them all by himself now that he is in school.
Very cute! Thanks for sharing. It sure helps me out, as my little guy is so close in age to your little guy!
He is ‘model cute’ Such a cutie. They do keep growing. My little guy now stands 6 ft. 3 inches and is over 30, with cuties of his own. Cherish it all. I passes far too quickly!!
Love those pants.
Thanks for your patterns and your tutorials.
The pants are darling!
So cute! And a great idea because yep…they just keep growing! Wish mine would slow down and stay little!
He is so cute!!!!!!!!!!! I agree with the waistbands- they should all be more comfortable (and in our sizes too ahem).
What a doll!!! I love the pants too, but the model totally “sells” them. Thanks for the pattern, I’m looking forward to making a pair or ten for my Oliver.
Cute pants! How do I print off the pattern? I’m having issues.

And for the 12-18 Mo pattern size, you can click on the document above. I tried using Scribd for sharing my newer free pattern pieces, and unfortunately since this post went live they changed their service so that now you need to pay a fee from what I understand. But the biggest problem is the fact that I lost my hard drive, with all of my patterns on it. So either you get it from Scribd, and pay their fee – or you dont get it. (and no, I get no money from Scribd for this).
Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful!
Thanks for your help and quick reply. I got an email for a free week trial so I’ll use that to download it.
