My absolutele favorite season is just about here…Fall. Can you feel it in the air?
Setting aside the fact that it is clearly the best time for fashion (naturally), there is just something magical about Autumn. The way the leaves are changing color, the new brisk feel to the air, how you slowly start to emerge from your Air Conditioning to find that you want to take walks with your family, bake apple pies, play at the park, and jump in leaf piles. Did I mention that my birthday happens to be in the Fall? Yup, best Season ever.
Growing up my family had a tradition, like many families in the North East we would always go apple picking together. My goodness, the amount of apples we would come home with was astounding – but it yielded almost a month of home baked goodies. From apple pies, to apple turnovers, to apple jelly, and of course apple sauce – we would relish it all.
So when I recently got my hands on some burlap coffee bags courtesy of BurlapFabric.com, I knew they would make a perfect carrier as an homage to my apple picking days.
I love burlap fabric, the texture is so fun to work with, it is very reasonably priced, and it provides an incredible amount of strength! Perfect for holding things like tons of coffee beans, and ummm….apples!
Turning a burlap coffee bag into a tote is super easy, a novice sewist could make this bag.
All you need to do is…
And you are done!
Thanks so much for stopping by, and until next time…

adorable! i would look so hot sporting one of these at the orchard…that we frequent way too much these days!
Love this!!! Now to hit up Starbucks for a bag
beautiful!
This makes me want to hit the orchard! I always get messed up when I live in the south – is it apple time, or has it past?!
Fun project and great images!
Love this!
Love love love it!!,
That is so cute. I would love one on my front porch, to use as decor. How cute would that be to have apples and pumpkins sitting it it? Or in a photo shoot? So cute!
Oh my gosh! I love this!! Let’s see…do I have 20 minutes to squeeze out one of those? Why, yes, I think I do!
I can’t even tell you how much I love that! I’d use it for a tote bag for every day.
Just another reason to love fall!!!! Darling bag!
What a great idea! Just lovely!
This is soooo super cute Jessica! I love it!
Doesn’t the burlap come apart in time at where the leather straps are sewn in? Did anyone reinforce this somehow?
