A few weeks ago I signed up for the zippered pouch swap going on over at The Sewing Loft. The idea behind it was to make a purse, tote, pouch, anything you want…so long as it had a zipper!
I ended up using Anna of Noodlehead Open Wide Zipper Pouch tutorial, and let me just tell you – it was super easy to follow! Using this fun elephant fabric I found at my local fabric store, and a fabulous metallic zipper by Coats & Clark…I am in love with how it turned out!
I decided to punch it up a bit by adding a cute bow on the front, because let’s face it – bows make everything better. I just hope my partner likes it as much as I do! Because after I made this, I immediately ran back to the fabric store and purchased every single metallic zipper they had left. Love them.
So go ahead, get involved in the handmade gift giving season! It is so much fun – especially when you never know what is coming in the mail
.
Thanks so much for stopping by, and until next time…
Happy Sewing!

Jessica it’s too cute like a present wrapped in itself. I too have that Noodlehead tut bookmarked and my fabrics are cut, I went plaid but have yet to get it sewn up – only 19 days left!!!
Way cute. I got a metal zipper for the last purse I made myself, and have loved it. But metallic, need to check those out! Thanks for the heads up!
So cute! I’m going to have to add some metallic zippers to my stash soon!
oooh… i’m liking them too. They add a little bling!
The bag is so cute. I participated in that swap too and I’m waiting for my bag to come in the mail. I used a tutorial from the Sew,Mama,Sew Handmade Holidays to make my bag for my person. Haven’t used metallic zippers, just starting to make more bags with zippers.
I just looked and that’s the same tutuorial I used. I made the medium sized bag and my daughter was in the swap too and made the small bag. I used flower fabric from my stash.
I am so in love with this! I want this fabric! It would be cute for a diaper bag pouch to carry small necessities in! I gotta see if I can find this fabric at our fabric store:) Love it!
