Sun & Surf Pattern Tour – Surfer Slacks & Beachy Boat Neck Tee

The minute I saw the Sun & Surf Pattern Collection I was smitten, my goodness there is just so many cute patterns by incredible designers all in one fantastic bundle! Needless to say, when they asked if I wanted to be a part of the Tour – I simply had to get on board.

I was picked to sew the Beachy Boat Neck Tee by Melly Sews and the Surfer Slacks by See Kate Sew Patterns. My initial thought was that these were perfect for little man. But as I was Spring Cleaning and going through my eldests’s wardrobe this past weekend, I came to the realization that she suddenly only had skinny jeans to wear!!! What happened to the comfy run-around pants that she used to wear all of the time? My mind was set…

Going through my fabric collection, I stumbled across some Sarah Jane Out to Sea fabric that I hadn’t used yet…Sacrebleu! How had I missed that?! A situation that was quickly remedied…lol.

The pants are meant to fit loose and comfy, perfect for just running around and playing. After all, that’s what kids are supposed to do! They were a quick and easy sew, and the added fabric embellishments give it just the right touch of fun and whimsy.

The shirt, ahhhh – that shirt. I love it. The Beachy Boat Neck Tee was even faster to sew, if that is even possible. And the fit was perfect for my eldest daughter. I didn’t sew the bottom curve as the pattern suggests, simply because I had made this shirt by upcycling a thrifted tee.

The bottom line is I absolutely loved it, and I already know that this shirt pattern will be getting lots of love in our house.  Umm…hello, does it come in adult sizes?

Both the Surfer Slacks and the Beachy Boat Neck tee were fabulous sews. Chloe and I are thrilled with them, which means these designers simply hit it out of the park.

They are being sold as part of the Sun & Surf Pattern Collection at Pattern Anthology available only through March 24th, 2013. After that, the patterns will be sold on their own through each separate designer at their full retail price. So make sure you get them before the collection is no more.  After all – have you seen the dresses included, or the jacket, or perhaps that fabulous skirt?!  Seriously, it is an amazing bundle not to be missed!

  5. I love the colors for your girl! She looks so cute and comfortable. I wouldn’t have thought of girl pants from that pattern.

    • They are definitely fun pants for the girls for running around and having fun in! Looser than most of her pants, but when I think of boy pants – they are supposed to be loose. That is all I put Ben in – things that I know he has loads of room :) . So these pants are perfect for that! I love them :)

  6. I was going to sew those pants for my son but I think now I might have to make them for my girls too.
