Five and Ten Designs is a collaboration between 5 indie sewing designers, all of whom love to sew for children. Sharing our love for this timeless art with pattern block divergence. With Volume One being released today, you will learn cool tricks, pattern alterations, and be able to sew at least TEN completely different looks – all from one basic pattern block.
Furthermore, by using the bonus accessory patterns, you can connect with your own inner designer by adding a collar here, a cap sleeve there, or a pocket to any of the designs, thus making it all your own.
The possibilities are endless. Sew one, or sew a whole wardrobe, all from just one basic pattern.
One of my personal contributions to the book, is Look No. 9.
By altering the basic bodice block pattern, I was able to sew a fun wrap dress with gathered underskirt. With just a little bit of whimsy, a whole lot of comfort, and an extra long waist tie to hold it all in place. This dress has just the right amount of twirl meets every day life. Perfect for Spring, Summer, or Fall – your little girl will want to wear this dress again and again.
And that is just ONE of the TEN amazing designs in Volume One.
By including 5 Designers, every look is fresh and unique – coming from different perspectives. All made from the same bodice block. Designers such as Elegance & Elephants, Delia Creates, Girl. Inspired., Craftiness is Not Optional – all known for their taste and excellence.
