I am so in love with today’s guest, Helen of Curly Birds. Her blog is pure joy, and I love visiting it every chance I get! Devoted to children’s crafts and the art of play, she has a talent for capturing the beauty in every day life. She is magic with felt, and her crafts and hand sewn projects always leave me in awe of her talent and creativity.
I was so excited to see what her and her beautiful curly haired twins would create together for K.I.D.S.
As this is my daughters’ first year of taking packed lunches to school, I’ve been trying to find ways to make their lunches a little more fun.
On a large piece of paper, I drew around the components of my daughters’ lunch box. I then asked my daughters to draw their ideal lunch. I hand-sewed a placemat out of muslin and felt that looks exactly like their drawn lunches.
Then I made the lunch out of real food!
Nola drew lemonade, strawberry yogurt, blueberries, and cherry tomatoes as sides. For her main dish, Nola drew a pattern of asparagus, spinach, popcorn, and cheerios.
I can guarantee this lunch won’t come home half eaten!
I am blown away by this Helen, as with everything you make! Just WOW! your kids must have felt so very special that first day of school. That, and the fact that your kids eat so many fruits and vegetables – lol. My kids would’ve drawn all sorts of lollipops – ha! Wanna share your secret :)? Thank you so very much for being here and being a part of K.I.D.S.
