Have you ever found that life is moving so fast, that you forget to look up? Between working from home, raising three children, being a kick-butt Wife and Mother, school, soccer practice, Girl Scouts, looking for a new house, and everything in between…I often find myself traveling 100 miles per hour.
I had an epiphany this past week.
Throughout all of this, I have had this dream of having my own sewing studio. A place inside my home that was just my own. And as we hunt for our own home to buy, that is one of my conditions. Sewing space. And of course, if I could have my dream of all dreams, it would be a lovely little white and clean sewing space, with lots of organized gorgeous fabric, overlooking the water.
Then I looked up. How had I not realized that I already had exactly what I was dreaming of? Sometimes we are so busy striving for the next levels in life, that we don’t even realize it when we get there.
With an interview occurring this week in my very own home, I was forced to take inventory of my sewing area and really clean house. I was able to donate 3 huge bags filled with fabric and other supplies that I knew I was never going to use. Do you know how good that feels? To not hold so tightly onto fabrics, but rather to know that they are going to bless someone else who (like me) will squeal when they stumble across them at the thrift store? So so good.
So this is my sewing space, cleaned out and looking good. It is the sewing space of my dreams, and I feel so blessed to not have missed that.
