This look is right up my alley! I would wear this every day of the week….if my kids wouldn’t put dirty handprints on my bum. But I love it, love it, love it. And after seeing an outcry for more plus size patterns a week or two ago, I thought it would be fun to feature some this week!
The girl below is gorgeous, stylish, and I pretty much love her.
So let’s make this look, shall we?
The Penelope Peplum isn’t a Plus Size pattern, but it does go up to a 44 bust – which works for many people. I think often a lot of people do not look at the bust measurements of pattern sizes – and just assume based on what the model looks like! That being said, I don’t see why you couldn’t alter the Simplicity 1650 peplum dress pattern and just make it a shirt!
Pattern companies that sell stylish patterns, some called ‘Plus Size’ or that go up to XXXL in size, include:
- Jocole Patterns
- Lekala Sewing Patterns
- Imagine Gnats Sewing Patterns
- GreenStyle Sewing Patterns
- Colette Patterns (knit patterns up to 3X)
Also – a great tutorial for resizing an existing pattern to your size can be found at Sense and Sensibility Patterns HERE.
And one last thing…about THAT SCARF. Lookie at this cool scarf sewing tutorial I found by Alicia, the owner of Whimsey Box’s blog, Dismount Creative…
Thanks so much for stopping by, and until next time…
