Has anyone else noticed the explosion of Fedora Hats in kids photographs? I love it. As my good friend Alida says, we are Fedora enablers. Lol. I blame it on the awesome Style that Kid eBook that helped us all start to add more ‘props’ into our photography. With my kids wearing their straw fedoras all Summer long, I thought it was the perfect time to pull out my Fedora Hat pattern by E & E Patterns and sew up some new ones to help transition from Summer to Fall.
Floral Fedora – PDF Pattern
Made using Pat Bravo’s Carnaby Street Ladylike Black Tea fabric, I thought it would be fun to make the hat in something other than Winter twill. I love the way it turned out, and even decided to add a bow using twill tape along the side. Chloe thinks its fabulous, and wore it around all day after I photographed her in it. She is almost 8 years old, and was the XL hat size.
Furthermore, I realized after sewing this pattern just how easy it would be to size up for my own head! I just may need to try that next time. I have some white fabric that is SCREAMING ‘fedora’ at me. Lol.
This is my second time working with the Fedora Hat Pattern by E & E Patterns, and I still love it just as much. It is a fabulous pattern, perfect for styling your kids all year round.
