I am obsessed with tribal fabric lately. After finding this one in my local store’s clearance bin, I snatched it up like I was running through a sample sale. It was MINE! Mine, mine, mine. The only problem was, I only had about 1/2 – 3/4 yard to play with. Not enough to make something fabulous for myself, juuuust enough to eek out something for the kids. As soon as I saw the Little Betty Top Pattern, I knew it was perfect…girly shirt meets tribal fabric perfection.
The pattern was so much fun to work with, and I must admit – truly surprised me with its construction. I had in my head how I thought it was going to sew together, and once I read through the instructions was pleasantly surprised to see it was much easier than what I had in mind. Sewn in such a way as to cut down on seams that would otherwise be on the inside of the shirt. The fit is spot on. And the fabric I used was perfect. The Little Betty Top is offered in all sleeve lengths, and would be perfect for Fall in a heavier ponte knit or even stretch sweatshirt or sweater fabric. Chloe loves it, and cannot wait to wear it to school!
I tried, I desperately tried to line up those front center pattern lines. Oh well – no one ever called me the perfect seamstress. HA. We still love it though.
As mentioned earlier, the fabric I used was found in my local fabric store’s clearance bin. But I agree with you – it is never any fun to see fabric you like only to be told you cannot get it!
